Over the past two days, we’ve encountered several issues with users attempting to tweak and tinker with OneSpace.
While we encourage curiosity and experimentation, it’s important to note that there are certain limitations and potential problems that could result in severe consequences like disk corruption or complete inaccessibility of space.
Here are certain things you should absolutely avoid doing:
1. Setting Up A VPN (ex: Cloudflare)
→ VPN/Tunnels will change the network of your space, thus making it unreachable
2. Setting up Windows Account Password
→ Avoid setting up a windows account password as this will make the disk un-bootable
3. Updating Windows
→ Make sure to stay connected to the stream while updating Windows. After the update, head to OneSpace Home and terminate it to initiate a safe shutdown.
→ Wait for 2-4 minutes before starting again; it might take another 2-4 minutes for Windows to boot up after the update.
→ If the launch fails, please reach out to support for assistance.
4. Tinkering around Windows Boot Settings or Windows important files
→ This can lead to complete boot failure or disk corruption
5. Tinkering around OnePlay Streaming client and Firewall or Installing 3rd party solutions
→ Avoid altering firewall rules for the Streaming Client or triggering alerts related to the Streaming Solution, as this could result in permanent failure to start the Space.
→ Additionally, refrain from installing Parsec, Sunshine, or any other third-party streaming solutions that may modify streamer settings, consequently causing failure.
6. HAGS (Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling)
→ While HAGS is ok to use, after enabling, simple terminate OneSpace and Start Again (for a safe reboot).
→ Do Note: HAGS can cause random Hangs, Instability, Crash so its not recommended
7. Overclocking
→ Do not overclock the GPU/CPU/Memory as this can lead to crash and permanent failure of your OneSpace Boot Disk
8. Antivirus/Firewall etc
→ There are certain cases when an antivirus/firewall program blocks our streaming software from running in your OneSpace VM, so please proceed carefully with this
